Darren Criss’ Hollywood Piano Bar

No, that sign on Cahuenga Blvd is not a sign for a sex club, it's the entrance to Tramp Stamp Granny’sDarren Criss’ new Hollywood piano bar. Once you enter they offer you "DRINKS, DANCING, AND UPSCALE DEBAUCHERY."  At a piano bar?

Yep...Darren Criss...the star of "The Assassination of Gianni Versace", "Glee", and the "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" actor is the man behind Tramp Stamp Granny’s ...along with his fiancée Mia Swier.  Awe, young and in love..."Hey, let's open up a straight gay bar."

Tramp Stamp Granny’s format takes its cues from the NYC Broadway-bar institution Marie’s Crisis, where a pianist takes requests...mostly show tunes...and the whole room sings along.

Wondering where they got the name? Well according to Mia, it's an homage to her saucy grandma...and to a generation of grannies with tramp stamps.

"Mia and I are so happy to say that our piano bar baby, @trampstampgrannys is finally open for business in Los Angeles,” Criss wrote on Instagram on April 6. “Come on by for some pretty booze and tasty tunes. Sing along! Drink along! Stay a-longer!”

Mia, the founder of an all-female Guns N’ Roses cover band called "Guns N’ Hoses", also loves to sing at the bar...along with Darren who is behind the piano most nights....but the pair are really hoping the voices you’ll hear are your own.  Well...if you heard my voice...you may want to rethink that.   If you ever heard Criss acapella version of "I Dreamed A Dream" that would be enough to fill the house just in hopes that he would belt it out.  It's PERFECT.

Tramp Stamp Granny's is EXACTLY the kind of bar Hollywood needs, and that is why we ❤️it.   XOXO

  1. Thanks for this piece. I haven't been there because the place is too expensive for me. But I visited some piano bar in Greater London, and it was just horrible! And the grand piano was awful too.

  2. And why was it so awful? I know that many bars try to save as much as they can and sometimes they buy crap from citizens. So please follow this link if you want to help them find a good model that will not only last for decades, but will make the listeners happy with the perfectly tuned sound. I wish you a good weekend.
