The Standard Hotel Sells POT

Well...it's going to sell pot...legally. The Standard Hotel on Sunset Blvd is set to be the very first hotel in Los Angeles to open a marijuana store inside the hotel. Can you imagine what the rock stars of yesteryears who used to hang out at the Riot Hyatt would have thought about this?

Robert Rosenheck, founder and chief executive of L.A.-based Lord Jones, is the proprietor, and will sell everything in his 300 square feet space inside the famous hotel, from delectable treats infused with THC to “topicals” like lotion, (some of which contain THC, others made with hemp-derived CBD), along with what he describes as “a very tightly curated assortment of best-in-class products – including smokable product” by other brands.

Although there are already “bud and breakfasts” and hotels that allow cannabis consumption, “there’s nothing on the scale of what the Standard and Lord Jones are trying to do,” said Cynthia Salarizadeh, publisher of the Cannabis Trend Report and Cannabis Brand Report.  Drugs are nothing new to the Sunset Strip, but this will be the first time a legal pot shop, will open inside a hotel.  I guess after a long night of partying on the Sunset Strip, it makes perfect sense to be able to call down to room service for a wake and bake the next morning. "I'll take a joint with a side of pancakes please."

Standard International’s chief executive and managing partner, Amar Lalvani, sees putting Lord in the lobby in keeping with that tradition.  “We love the idea of connecting with people at the early stages [of their businesses], finding fun, interesting dynamic concepts and allow them to come to life in physical locations at our hotels,” he said.

It's a pretty funny concept if you think about that famous episode of Sex And The City where Carrie comes to the West Coast and stays at the hotel but is horrified to find that she can't smoke ANYWHERE inside the Standard.

The building that now houses The Standard, Hollywood, was originally built in 1962 as the Thunderbird Motel, and had become a retirement home when Andre Balazs Properties purchased and remodeled it in 1999.   Original investors in the Hollywood hotel were Leonardo DiCaprio, Cameron Diaz, Benicio del Toro, D'arcy Wretzky and James Iha.

We can't think of any place better than Sunset Blvd to bring the weed and hotel business together.  Lord Jones and the Standard Hotel....we ❤️ you.

  3. Wow, this is a fascinating development in both the hospitality and cannabis industries! The idea of a marijuana store opening inside The Standard Hotel on Sunset Blvd marks a big cultural shift, especially in a city like Los Angeles. It’s wild to think how far we’ve come—from the “Riot Hyatt” days of rebellious rock stars to now having legal cannabis sold in the same iconic location. This could set a new trend for hotels nationwide. Can't wait to see how it impacts tourism and nightlife in LA! places to stay in Scottsdale

  4. I completely agree that the right tools can make all the difference in reaching travel goals sooner. It’s not just about setting money aside, but also keeping track of how close you are to your target. Using budgeting spreadsheets, mobile apps, or even dedicated savings accounts can give a clear picture of progress. That motivation helps you stay consistent, and before you know it, you’re ready to book your dream trip.things to do in Auburn

  5. Great point about starting to save early once you pick your destination! Budgeting not only helps you know what you can afford, but it also prevents overspending during the trip. The Finn by Chase mobile bank idea is brilliant—having an all-in-one mobile tool for saving and tracking expenses can make travel planning so much smoother. This is exactly the kind of financial preparation more travelers should embrace for a stress-free vacation.st martin yacht charters

  7. Reading your take on Portland, Oregon, makes me realize why so many people recommend it as a travel destination. I appreciate that you pointed out the “weird” culture in a positive way, because it shows that the city has a personality of its own. For travelers who enjoy food adventures and vibrant communities, Portland sounds like the perfect spot. 8. I found this article very insightful. The travel industry is booming, and the role of a travel agent is more relevant than ever. Many people think online booking tools have replaced agents, but in reality, agents provide a personal touch, strategic planning, and excellent customer service that websites simply can’t match. They help travelers explore destinations with confidence and ensure every detail is well managed, which is why their expertise will always be in demand. river nile cruise

  9. Great article! The way you’ve outlined the relevance of travel agents today is spot-on. Many people underestimate the training and dedication it takes to build a successful career in this field. It’s not just about a love for travel—it also involves strong business acumen, problem-solving, and the ability to offer clients unique experiences. This post is motivating for anyone who wants to turn their passion for travel into a long-term profession. Budapest

  10. I enjoyed reading this because it reflects what I’ve always heard—Portland is a city you really have to experience for yourself. The quirky culture, friendly vibe, and endless food options sound like the perfect mix for a fun trip. I like how you framed it around your short stay because not everyone has a lot of time to explore, yet you showed it’s still possible to get a true feel of the city in just a few days. guanajay cuba

Travel-sized products are so practical, and I like how you mentioned that this set is perfect for testing out skincare before buying full-sized versions. The fact that it comes with a mix of products and even a silk eye mask makes it such a thoughtful package. I haven’t tried Image Skincare before, but your positive experience with the sheet masks and now this kit has definitely caught my attention.surfing in taghazout
