Hollywood Heyday

If you're a fan of the Golden Age of Hollywood, you'll love reading the inside dish on some of the most iconic stars from that era in this new book Hollywood Heyday: 75 Candid Interviews with Golden Age Legends.

Almost 40 years ago, co-authors David Fantle and Tom Johnson, took their passion for classic films and flew to Los Angeles to interview Hollywood legends Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly. Over 200 interviews followed - and are now captured in their new book alongside colorful candid photos of the stars.

Hollywood Heyday not only features those chats with Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly but also includes candid interviews (and photos) with other legends like James Cagney, Lucille Ball, Bob Hope, Lucille Ball and Gregory Peck and dozens more.

Perhaps most exciting is their interview with Robert Wagner, who also wrote the forward, who opens up about the 1981 drowning death of his wife, Natalie Wood.

"After Natalie died, if I didn't have my children, I wouldn't be here," Robert says. "It was such a devastating, horrible time."

He only started to heal with the love of  Jill St. John, whom he wed in l990:

"It was so fortunate that she came into my life and she held me up. I was so raw." Robert's old Hollywood pal Gene Kelly also provided emotional support. "He was at my house right away," says Robert, "holding me in his arms."

We ❤️ hearing stories of Hollywood in its heyday so...Hollywood Heyday: 75 Candid Interviews with Golden Age Legends...we ❤️you.
