Mad About Movie Marathons
The 80's Lovefest
Airing June 5, 2018, Sundance TV
YES, the '80s...the clothes were rad, the hair was totally awesome and the rom-coms were, like, the best. Here is the proof. Check out this triple-header, check your local times and set your DVR!!!
First up, "Pretty in Pink," (1986), Molly Ringwald stars as an outcast who hangs her older boss (Annie Potts) and her quirky classmate Duckie (Jon Cryer), who has a crush on her. When one of the rich and popular kids at school, Blane (Andrew McCarthy), asks Andie out, it seems too good to be true...and of course, since this is an 80's rom com, it was.
Then it's "Dirty Dancing," cause nobody puts BABY in the corner in this iconic 1987 film which also stars Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze. Watching this you will have the time of your lives.
Finish up with the 1989 film "When Harry Met Sally" where Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan argue the 80's age-old question of whether men and women can ever truly be strictly platonic friends.
Next is the TCM marathon,
Mad about Musicals Marathon

We're off to see the wizard...and a slew of Golden Age Hollywood's best musicals in a nightlong marathon that'll keep your toes tapping.
Judy Garland lead off as the tornado-tossed Dorothy Gale in "The Wizard Of OZ."
Followed by Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers dancing cheek to cheek in the 1935 mistaken-identity romance "Top Hat."
Musical-comedy legend Deanna Durbin saunters in next in the 1936 film "Three Smart Girls" and Shirley Temple steals hearts as a young orphan who helps Robert Young and Alive Faye find love in "Stowaway" (1936).
If you are up for one more, Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy close the marathon out as singers whose love affair is doomed in the 1937 movie "Maytime."
So if you ❤️Hollywood, watch all these films. There will be a test. xoxo
