In 1924, Chaplin built this compound to serve as an on rendezvous spot for his famous friends like Marlene Dietrich, Gloria Swanson, and Marilyn Monroe.  Chaplin wrote his films there while welcoming a steady rotation of woman through his small front door.  He was only 5'5" and had it built to size.  Now The Charlie is an under-the-radar collection of English cottages tucked away on a quiet residential street in West Hollywood housing 13 entirely unique units.
