The Greatest Showman, The Greatest Movie

I'm not sure why EVERYONE is NOT talking about this ultimate feel-good film or how it was snubbed by the Academy, but if I ran things...The Greatest Showman would WIN Best Picture....but it wasn't even nominated...#Shocking

The Greatest Showman is a celebration of the birth of show business and stars Hugh Jackman, who is practically the only actor left in Hollywood that we can root for, as P.T. Barnum, a man who is driven, charming, loves his family, sings songs to his wife..and oh yea...invented THE CIRCUS.  Is it true?  Who cares.  For a long time, Barnum was quoted as saying "There is a sucker born every minute." Turns out...he never said that.  Sucker or not, everything about this movie is terrific.

The Greatest Showman is the "true" story of a man who challenges social norms, brings the excluded and mocked out of the shadows and turns them into stars...and all with music and dancing that will have you singing along and grinning from ear to ear.  The title song set the tone....this IS the Greatest Show.

Set in the 1800's, before Hollywood was even born,  the songs...AHH THE SONGS,  written by the same team who wrote the tracks in La La Land..but this time getting them right, are contemporary...pop and hip-hop...wonderful and timeless classics themselves.

I dare you not to be moved by "This Is Me," an anthem about self-acceptance and dignity, and just like Patrick Bateman's rants about "The Greatest Love Of All"...the message from "This Is Me" also "crosses all boundaries and instills one with the hope that...since it's impossible in this world we live in to empathize with others, we can always empathize with ourselves. It's an important message. Crucial, really, and it's beautifully stated on the album."

Oh...and Zac Efron is also in it...and he is magical as he sings and dances with Hugh Jackman on a bar while doing shot after shot singing "The Other Side."

Then ZAC flyes through the air with that chick that dissed E!'s Fashion Police as they sing the GREATEST love song, "Rewrite The Stars"...cause there is nothing better than a love song with double entendre.

Ultimately, the film is a celebration of humanity and the creation of show business, it's the ULTIMATE HOLLYWOOD MOVIE...and it's absolutely the GREATEST.

Run to the movies and see it on the big screen..it's like dreaming with your eyes wide open...as stated in the finale song.
