Another One Bites The Dust: Westside Pavilion

The iconic west side mall, The Westside Pavilion is closing up shop....but not all of it.

According to reports, Hudson Pacific Properties announced that it has acquired a majority ownership of the mall and will turn 500,000 square feet of the shopping center into a "state-of-the-art creative office space"  They are going to keep 100,000 square feel as an entertainment retail space with a movie theater, restaurant, and some shops.

It will be sad to see this iconic shopping center go...but it has lost a lot of it's luster in the past few years. Nordstrom left and Macy is expected to close later this year.

The Westside Pavillion in Clueless

If you are not a frequent shopper there, you may recognize the mall from the movie "Clueless" (just the outside...inside was Fashion Square) "Christmas With The Kranks", and the mall from "Modern Family."

Recently "The Goldberg's" shot there, dressing the mall very 80's for the kids who worked at Spencer Gifts.

Oh yea, and it's the mall from Tom Petty's 1989 "Free Fallin" video.

Sad to see our 80's mall disappearing, but onwards and upward.  Westside Pavilion...we ❤️you!!!
