Another One Bites The Dust: Sofi Restaurant

So sad to hear of the closing of one of my favorite Greek Restaurants, Sofi.

For over four decades, Sofi was West Third Street's hidden gem. Beyond the environment, the Greek food was authentic and delicious.  If you have never been there, you missed out.  This place was like being in Greece...it really was a magical spot.

You entered through a hidden hallway that was between an optical shop and Quality Food & Beverage into a beautiful patio garden with intimate lighting and an outdoor beer and wine bar.  You really and felt like you were transported to Greece itself.

The owners were Greek and there was Greek music playing throughout the place.  I have had many fun times at Sofi, and once even rented the entire place out for a HUGE birthday party.

As of July 30,  Bacari, a well-known wine bar, and small plates restaurant which has other shops in Glendale, South LA near USC, and Playa del Rey, will take over its space.

Sorry to see Sofi go.  ❤️
