Movies at the Famous Paramount Ranch
You might know the Paramount Ranch as the setting for The HBO show "Westworld," or from the countless other classic tv and movies that were shot there. Or you might remember it from when first wrote about it HERE.
Well on Sunday, August 19, you are invited to tour this historic studio in person and watch a classic Hollywood film as the ranch is open up to the public for a night "under the stars" for a screening of "Flesh And The Devil."
Yes, Sunday, Aug 19, Paramount Ranch in Angora Hills will be screening FLESH AND THE DEVIL (1926) starring Greta Garbo, John Gilbert and Lars Hanson. Directed by Clarence Brown. John Gilbert and Lars Hanson play childhood friends who long ago swore a bond of eternal friendship. The seductive Greta Garbo, entrancing them both, creates a dangerous triangle that tests their loyalty.
The feature will be accompanied with live music by Michael Mortilla and will be presented on authentic 16mm projectors. Surprise short subjects will be shown before the feature.
Guests are invited to come early and enjoy a picnic before the film and soak in the charmingly rustic location.
A guided walking tour of the ranch starts at 6:30 p.m., with the film beginning at 7:30 p.m. Adult tickets run $6, while children 12 and under are $3, and kids 3 and under are free.
Silents Under the Stars is presented by the Silent Film Society of Hollywood Heritage.
