Hollywood's Most Famous House Is Up For Sale Again

The Fox Residence (aka Byrdview aka Farralone) one of the MOST famous "Hollywood" homes (even though it's in Chatsworth, a city that sits 26 miles away from Hollywood) is up for sale again.

Fans of Hollywood will certainly be familiar with this historic midcentury estate, currently on the market, as it has been in countless movies and tv shows over the years including Mad Men as the Palm Springs house in the episode "The Jet Set."

It was  Beyonce's home in Dreamgirls, and it was featured in Ali, Californication, and Bewitched just to name a few.

Do you remember when HGTV's Design Star shot there for a season?

Now the 1951 Pereira & Luckman house that has an incredibly star-studded history can be yours.

It has been said that massive who’s who parties for Hollywood A-listers were very common here and often you could spot Lucille Ball and Ava Gardner hanging by the pool.  It's also been said that the prior owners would shoot off fireworks to signal Happy Hour to the neighbors and that Judy Garland and Vicente Minnelli updated their vows on the property.

According to Hollywood folklore, it's most famous resident had to have been Frank Sinatra who rented the estate for almost a decade and sublet the guesthouse (which has its own pool) to Marilyn Monroe who supposedly spent time here with John F. Kennedy.

Who woudn't want to live here?  According to the listing:

This iconic Mid Century Modern Architectural estate sits atop a completely private promontory above the vast 1,325-acre Chatsworth Reservoir nature preserve. Located minutes from celebrity enclaves of Hidden Hills, Calabasas and nearby prestigious Sierra Canyon, Viewpoint, and Chaminade schools.

The home, guest house and pool cabana have a total 7 bedrooms, 7 baths and 2 - 1/2baths, with 360 degree panoramic views of the entire valley and mountain ranges, which are reached via a half-mile long private driveway.

Known as” Byrdview, one of the most recognized celebrity homes in America” this is a stunning example of “ Architecture as Art”. Built in 1949 by one of America’s greatest architects, William Pereira. It is one of only 4 homes he designed. The house has 16 ft. ceilings and is surrounded by glass walls that open seamlessly to outdoor spaces, flooding the home with an abundance of light and stunning views.

The estate sits on 7 magnificent acres, 4 of which are flat, a larger structure can be built, which would enjoy its own separate driveway. This allows for a second home, a large guest house, recording studio or an equestrian facility. The property accommodates parking for 100+ cars and the agriculture zoning allows for a vineyard. This is truly the ultimate private luxury compound. It is one of the most private, legendary and important estates in Southern California with a rich heritage and prominent Hollywood beginnings.

Ah, if those walls could talk....we would listen.  What a wonderful grand home, that could be yours for $12.5 Million.  So worth it, and that is why we ❤️it.
