Another One Bites The Dust: Samuel French Book Shop

The Samuel French Bookshop on Sunset Blvd is closing up shop.


If you ever shopped for a play or a book about actors and writer than you probably have stopped by Samuel French Bookshop on Sunset Blvd.  Sadly the bookstore is closing up.

The beloved industry bookstore, which has been operating on Sunset Boulevard since 1947, will close its doors at the end of the month, according to their Instagram.

Today, we announce the closing of our Bookshop at the end of March. “It is an unfortunate situation, in which many other bookshops find themselves. However, the good news is that Samuel French continues to serve the world online with an unparalleled range of shows to license and scripts to purchase,”  said Samuel French president Nathan Collins.

As Sunset Blvd continues to change and evolve, you can expect more and more local places to shut down. Progress I guess, but it is sad to see them go.  Especially when we don't have too many bookstores in LA left.
