Faye Dunaway Has Tackled Another Diva

Faye Dunaway has taken a stab at another Hollywood icon, and this time her Joan Crawford, goes all Katherine Hepburn.

Faye Dunaway is almost synonymous with Joan Crawford having played the role to campy perfection in Mommie Dearest, and now she is proving she has the skills to tackle Hollywood royalty again, this time playing Katharine Hepburn in the one-woman show Tea at Five.

"The play is pretty amazing," says Faye, 78, who's currently doing the show in Boston before it hits Broadway. “The story of Katharine Hepburn and who she was and what she achieved, my Lord.”

Set in 1983 when Katharine was recuperating from a car accident at her family home in Connecticut, Tea at Five looks back over her turbulent life, including her ill-fated romance with frequent leading man Spencer Tracy, who died of a heart attack at 67 in 1967.

"How she dealt with it was she went forward with great energy,” says Faye. "I have aspects of that as well, [but] I don't think I'm as good as Hepburn was at it.”

Returning to Broadway for the first time in 37 years, “there are nerves - it's part of the thrill,” Faye admits. “The excitement and the nerves go together. It's part of the process."

Well, one great acting legend deserves another, so thank you, Faye Dunaway, for tackling this role, we love a good Hollywood story.  We ❤️ ya and can't wait to see you as Katherine Hepburn. xoxox
